My turn to jump on the bandwagon! After seeing several threads on hunting decades I came to realize this past season was not only the end of the decade but also my tenth anniversary of hunting.

Not growing up in a hunting family and not really knowing many people who did it I didn't start until I was legal to do so on my own, so a buddy and me took the CORE and PAL courses and set off on our first hunts in the fall of 2000...unsuccessfully...friends of mine began to be successfull the following year taking animals from right under my nose...

Until I finally got my first during a mid-november deer hunt in 2001...

From then on we were off to the races and haven't stopped...

Not all critters are mine but one buddy is camera shy so I was happy to pose with his animals for him but these are all hunts I have been a part of. More photos to come...

Was starting to learn a thing or two in the later half of the decade and got some better animals and more exotic hunts...

I've been fortunate to have an extremely generous employer who has taken me on all those mountain hunts for sheep, goats and elk. Without his extreme generosity (he pays for everything) I never could have achieved such accomplishments or seen such great country. I went on his trip three years in a row and could go every year. Thinking about joining the gang again this year after 2 years away...the country calls out to you!

Still a few things missing that I hope to be able to get in the next decade...grizzly...caribou...good muley buck...dall and/or bighorn! Certainly wouldn't shy away from another Stone's either, I was cheated with that first one as we shot those rams about two hours after first light on the first morning of our hunt...I'm not complaining though :-D.
