Can anyone point me towards a sight that would give me an idea of what it would cost to charter a flight for a hunt (or maybe just an idea of the cost?) Thanks.

You'll need to narrow it down a little. The big drivers are weight (what kind of aircraft) and distance. The weight is largely related to number of passengers.

Any idea how many folks you'd be flying with?

You'd likely charter a Beaver then. Using round ballpark numbers, it'd be about $1500 each way....which is about $1000 each return

Yep, although "doubles" is getting carried away. :) It adds close to 33% per person though ($1000 per head vs $750).

You gotta consider the return flight too though. 3 guys with 1 or 2 sheep in a Beaver is better than 2 guys in a 185 though, if it means an extra trip.

There's no "best way" in general. Each scenario is different. Its best to figure out where you want to go and who your going to go with (how many guys) first, then look at flight options. If say, $700 to $1500 each for flights is too much, then its not for you.

I've been squeaky on flights in my earlier trips....I wouldn't piss around with trying to nickle and dime the flights anymore. Just get the one that makes the most logistical sense, and pay what it costs.

Shoot me a pm of what specifically you need to know. I fly out of tatogga lake....50 miles south of dease lake. I can give you an exact cost per trip. Generally a beaver will haul 1000 lbs total passenger and baggage. A bit less can come out of the short or higher altitude lakes all you sheep hunters like.

Here is a new operation starting out of the Pitt Meadows Airport, not sure about the costs but there is a contact page. My buddies son just started this up so while I know they are "good people" I really have no idea of the costs. Might be worth a try...
