My 16th Birthday Hunt

Well today is my 16th Birthday and I dont think there is a better way to celebrate it than out in the fields!! :mrgreen: It was in my opinion the mildest weather hunt of the year!

So no snow geese this year, but lots of Mallards!! :-D We finally got out to our favourite duck fields that have been frozen over for a bit now. Lots of water. We set up in a spot we hoped the ducks liked as we didn't scout it at all! And turned up to be a good spot.

Dad only took some early morning shots with me, than watched me shoot the rest of the day. I also made a nice double on a pair of mallards. I passed tons of shots on teal, widgeon, and pintail as I wanted them FAT JUICY MALLARDS!!! :twisted: I did shoot 1 pintail as it was flying right in the flock of mallards, and looked like a hen mallard.

So we finished the day by noon and had a solid 9 birds. :mrgreen: Hope everyone had a good day today aswell!! This is the best Birthday present anyone could ask for, a day out afield with dad and some forever lasting memories. :-D

On the last 2 birthdays I have spent it in the bush deer hunting. Nice and low key doing what I love.

Well Marc, hopefully you get better soon. Only a couple hunting days left! Actually my dad is not well either. On my birthday he even spent some time in the truck while i was out there. :icon_frow My dad has a bad exema problem that just pops up out of nowhere and makes him feel horrible and restricts him from hunting from the bad skin which hurts really bad. Thats why he didn't shoot. Not because he didn't want to, but because he couldn't. Hopefully dad gets better before the weekend.

And Hopefully you get out for ducks atleast one more time. :wink:
