Whats a great fish finder to use for ice fishing.

never knew you could use a fish finder for ice fishing. hte other day i was able to see what the underwater camera's can do though. they seem awesome.

I have a portable fishfinder,I used it yesterday while ice fishing.Its great,if the the fish are suspended half way off the bottom at least you will know where to drop your line...try It!!!

i work for a company that manufactures industrial underwater cameras and monitors i was suprised those cheap ones work that well as the camera chips are poor quality but its amazing how cheap some of that stuff gets after a few years.
I want to buy one to see how they can make them so cheaply and maybe find a way to apply that to industrial quality ones.

I would second the portable, i have a humminbird that runs on a few AA batteries, will last almost a whole season on one set of batteries. I have had it for about 4 years and have never had any issues with it, although i use it in my 12' tinny not on ice.

Canadian tire has them on sale very once in a while.
