Congratulations on the puppies!

Don't know anything about the colours Heelers come in.

Does the pups ticking come in as they get older? Will they be same color as what is on their ears now? Can you tell at this age?

Would love to see more pics of them in a couple of weeks.

Cheers,
Kasomor

Heelers are born mostly white there colour starts to show at about three weeks but they can continue to change until about 2 years.

I'm trying to teach him to retrieve ducks but hes a little hyper. Have you ever known a heeler that retrieved?

Getting a heeler to swim seems to be a big enough challenge for me. Twanger on this site told me his old Heeler border collie cross reteived ducks. Like I said both ours retrieve grouse but they hate the water.

Hello Everett & Grinder Princess. Congrats on the new arrivals, 8 pups, you guy's are going to be a little busy over the next few weeks, so is Jamie . I have included a pic. of WES from your first litter, he is 5 months old in this photo, everyone can see what your new batch of pups are going to look like . I did have him swimming until everything froze up around here, but I am sure I will have him retrieving by middle summer this year . Shot me a PM with your phone number again, will see if we can move a dog or two.

Those are beautiful dogs you have there! I've been looking off and on for the right dog for me, blue heelers have been in the running! From your experiance using them for hunting, is it good? Are they calm when you are near game or do they rile up easy? Again, beautful dogs! How much are you planning on selling them for?

You can pretty much teach them to do anything. They naturualy want to chase when there young but as they mature they calm down. Ours eat alot of wild meat so they know what you are doing when you sneak up on a deer. The old one alway looks sort of disgusted when I pass on a deer. I think from his perspective we should kill every deer we can. I will drop you a PM with the price as we have not officialy listed them for sale. I am waiting till they are four weeks to post a for sale add.

For those that have been asking we have just posted the pups in the for sale section. HBC members get a one week head start before they hit the paper.

Heelers comes in Blue and Reds and can be tell by their paws in 3-4 weeks. Love the breed. My 6-1/2 yrs Blue heeler loves the water and herd sheep and cattle. Just started him this year on retrieving ducks, took him out 3-4 times to the marsh and he got used to the gun shots, duck calls and decoys already. Although obviously they are not bred for retrieving, they are very smart dogs and I'm going to keep on him when the geese opens in a few weeks!

They are bred to chase cattle so instinctivly not much good for big game, Mine sees a deer and he is off chasing it. Heeler are super high energy dogs and needs and lot of phyical and mental stimulations to be contend.

Sounds great, The sire is a striking dog and a great representative of the breed, if young Boomer grows up looking like that, we will be well pleased - I assure you.
