This could go in Hunting Gear too, but it is for Hunting in Mainland BC. My feelings won't be hurt if its moved. :)
I have a home-made e-caller that I rigged up for a Cassette Walkman initially, then a CD walkman later. It works with my iPod too, but I don't have any calls in .mp3 format.
Any suggestions where to get .mp3 sounds on the cheap? I am primarily interested in wolf howls....haven't been able to find any online (unless I buy a FoxPro first!).
TIA,

Happy new year!
http://www.western-rivers.com/downloads.html. Quite a few on here. Wolf too. Let me know how they work
I've been trying to make a caller as well to hook up to the Ipod. what speaker did you use and where did you find it. I might have to order off the internet because I have had no luck finding one at any stores that will be somewhat waterproof.

i got one of the speaker amplifiers that you find for around 10 or 15 bucks and then i removed the speaker and bridged the wire and soldered them to a 25 foot long piece of speaker wire with a smaller Loudspeaker at the end of it.
I can plug this into pretty much anything with a port.

Have you considered the following:
- find a non-weapon packing partner.
- provide partner with a large bottle of cheap whiskey (perhaps 5 star?)
- place partner and said whiskey in the middle of a field.
- tell partner to pretend it is a Saturday night in Fort McMurray.
After an hour or so the sounds should be sure to bring something in, perhaps a cougar if your partner hits just the right note.
