I had some guns given to me today and the neatest one is the remington model 14 pump action 44-40. I need to have the butt stock fixed. Its a little loose. Does anyone have any info on good ammo to run through it once I give it a good clean and get the stock pinned. Can you buy hollow points or hunting rounds for this thing. I know it is a close range gun. Would 100 yards be pushing it? I also got a 303 mk1, single shot 22 that would fit a 3 year old child and a nice single shot 12g shotgun. My uncle even gave me a nice wood lathe and all the chisels. Christmas came twice this year. Its a good thing I bought a new safe last night at costco. 10 left at langley branch. $330 bucks for a 12-14 gun safe.

Cool old rifle Brew. You won't find much 44-40 factory ammo around unfortunately, reloading is the way to go. Its about the same as a 44 mag - a good 100 yd deer round. And quite potent up close. ..
