Looking for info for here in B.C. about what is legal or not when it comes to stand hunting and/or using buildings for hunting.

For example, can you hunt from a hay loft? Or and old shack in the back 40? Or how about those elaborate, stand alone, hunting stands that look like a cabin on stilts? What about an abandoned run down cabin?

I know the regs say you can't shoot from a dwelling unless it is for the protection of crops/etc........so what does/does not constitute as a dwelling? What if it is on your own private property or property you have permission to use?

How elaborate can you get? Saw some pics from one in the states (Texas I think) that looked like an elevated tea room complete with china cabinet, side tables, sofas, book shelves, area rugs, etc...

tree stands, ground blinds, no matter how elaborate seem to be in use in bc and therefore presumably legal

If you're not being arrogant about it, who'll say anything? The whole point of having rules is to not cause trouble, so if you don't cause trouble, you haven't broke the rules.
