If you're running the river...take lots of fuel. She's a windy SOB:neutral:.

Skook's to Turnagain fairly twisty, "has its moments" depending on water/time of year.
Turnagain to Gataga.... big easy, .....sit down trip for the most part other than a few spots you have to pick the right channel thru the log jams.
Gataga to Frog gets fairly interesting, narrow, windy, lots of jams/channels
Frog is real skinny, especially into Sept., depending on water levels. By mid Sept. is getting real shallow and lots of rock.
Kechika above Frog....can only get a few kms. depending on time/water.
Gataga......lower few km. can be rocky (lots of nasty granite just under the surface) depending on water level, then opens up all the way up to and past logjam island.

I've never hunted it (wow do I want to), but here's a really good Nat Geo article on it and Wayne Sawchuk:

Kechika has moose and elk, the Turnagain which forks off of it has goats, stones, moose and a few elk.

The Turnagain (easy to see how it gets its name)
