One weapon? That'd be the bow (not the crossbow). The animal? That'd be a nice bull elk.

What coud be better than that?

Big bull elk with a bow, are you trying to be a dare devil ?
----That bull could gore you to death at such close range ...buy a rifle.
-- at least have a back up with a high powered rifle.
Jel -- concerned for your health

Well I'll have to say Bison with my muzzle loader...
Ok, now i'll be serious. I'm going for grizzly with my bow if I can draw an LEH. I think this year is my year.

I often wondered if bow hunters had a death wish, but now, a grizzly with an arrow is got to be insanity --- nice knowin yah Bow tie.

BimmerBob
12-23-2009, 08:53 AM
Boy oh boy, the choices are tough but like 835 says, after a lot of thinking I am going to go with...

Marmots with a 22-250, I think the most fun I have had in my hunting life was shooting marmots with a regular .22 as a kid. The nice thing afterwards was the lack of work when you go home.

Shot most things with my Win Featherweight 270, sooooooo.

For me it would be to break in my Ruger 350 rem mag on a nice Northern Moose in late September.

Or the same gun on a a Mulie in Nov.

Cannot wait to try some 225 barnes or partitions on the animals of BC.

Cheers

For me it would be Roosevelt Elk With my Custom .300WBY Magnum. I love to shoot this rifle. It puts a grin on my face every time I squeeze the trigger. I have been putting in for Roosavelt for the last 10+ years, and still have not got the draw.

If you could only hunt one North American animal, with one weapon, what would they be?[/quote]

If I interpret this question in that I have a single opportunity then I'll take a polar bear with my recurve and die with a smile on my face and sh#t in my pants!! If however it means I can only use one particular choice weapon and only one choice of game then that's got to be Rocky mountain Elk taken over and over again with a top end custom compound bow (not brand specific as I'm not partial to any as of yet though my browning would do)

Living where I do archery hands down. If I was living in Bc I would use my 300 wsm likely. I have bigger rifles but I don't know how well my 375 H&H is for distance I have never shot it past 200 yards,
I also have to add my shotgun I need to shoot waterfowl also lol.

I would have to say whitetail deer with a Husqvarna 270 win using a 140 grain Hornady soft point interlock with a leupold 2.5-8x36 gloss scope. I especially like the christian valley whitetails they are short, stalky and they look really tough, they also taste really good.
