Dec. 22 GREAT DAY!

Well dad and I hit fields again this morning. Lots of water and lots of ice. It was a beautiful cold, clear, fun morning!

Day started off pretty good with lots a mallards flying and shooting was great. Before we knew it, 5 mallards were in the bag. Then around 8:30 a HUGE flock of atleast 300 widgeon start circling us. They finally make a pass at 20 yards. We dropped 3. So by 9 am we had 8 ducks.

Then the bad streak started. From 9-10 we had lots of in-your-face action and we couldn't even touch a feather!! :cry: Dont know what it was, but our shooting sucked!! I should've changed my name to "sh_t-shot jr." for the hour!:lol:

After a cup of coffee, we started to hit them again. Bagged another 4 before we called it a day at 11 am. It was a great day and the funnest duck hunt this year so far!! :mrgreen:

Ya should see how fatty those drakes were. The widgeons were quite lean so I guess that huge flock just came in?? Can't wait to eat em'!!
