Barracuda I am in the works of getting a .222 and having it chambered in .223 I had a heck of a time finding one as well.

if one was to come up for a really good price i would do that also but would prefer to start out with the 223 because of the twist rates (222= 1 in 14 and a 223 = 1 in 12 or 9 normally) . russels said it would be march till they get the stevens in 223 . it seems that everywhere is out of them in 223 (SIR,Wholesale'Russels)

A Cheap one . The stevens in only $335 but everywhere is out of stock or else i would buy that . so to justify purchasing a 223 that isnt a new Stevens (as my wife says ,be patient and get a new rifle in march) it would have to be a cheap knock about rifle as i will get a stevens when they get in . unless you happen to have a remington 760 in 223 (they did come in this caliber and i wish they would do it again with the 7600)
Have you looked at the NEF single shots Barra? Several people on BOOC have gotten them and are impressed with the accuracy of these little rifles. Fred

I think the stevens is a better bargin if i go the new route. I did have an nef some years ago and it had some nice quality but it isnt as reloader friendly be cause of its chamber design
