I'm starting to think about my first BC Elk hunt this year. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on where, when, how etc?

More and better elk just about everywheere these days.
Pick an area that opens the beginning of sept and get out with the call.

Ps, I'm curious about some of the new caribou region herds. Ft St James etc.

Yup.............also McBride went from draw to 30 day 6-point gen season in only a few years. I know pilots in both towns that say they are realy everywhere in the area.

i know they are in mcbride i practicly lived there for a month or 2 working with family saw alot of nice bulls theres tons around there.

A good friend of mine lives in Chetwynd, and he gets up to Ft St.John all the time. He tells me theres "a ton" of elk there, I believe him. This year will be my first hunt as well, totally pumped!!:lol: :lol:

My family resides in Fort St. John and I hunt there every year. There is a healthy elk population around the area but close to town many of them are found on private land.

Make sure you have permission first if you're hunting private land. We had several "trespassers" screw up our hunting last year.

SHHHHHHHHH! There are no elk in region 7!!!! Especially not around McBride!!!!

Yup..there's no elk left..all got taken in '05 season..you dont want to go..lol
