Well it was quite the weekend at the store with all those racks coming in the door! Some pretty impressive animals came in, and several made book! Dennis Milton from Kamloops, offical scorer for Boone & Crockett and BC Book, had his measuring tools out non-stop both days. Dennis put in a lot of time and effort at no charge to make this all possible. Thanks Dennis!

It was a great turnout and a lot of great hunting stories were tossed around while the coffee and timbits disappeared.
A lot of guys left with new guns, X-Mas gifts and score sheets for their personal trophies! Next year will definitely be bigger and better!

Congratulations to the draw winners for the store draws!
Justin Vandermeulen took home a nice pair of Leupold binoculars. A Sentry gun safe went to B. Cheney, and an ALS personal safe to Clinton Walker.

Thank you to everyone for the support and Merry Christmas!

This was when it finally slowed down at the end on Sunday, the weather was a bit of a downer. We put a tape to about 70 animals, it was a great turnout, thanks to everyone who came out! We will be doing it again next year with a big buck contest in place, info and sign up will be ready for the outdoors show at tradex in March.http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af211/Highcaliberbc/DSC00596.jpg

Is that net typical or non-typical?

Net typical from region 8

You know a 186 net typical whitetail would rank around 260 th biggest of all time in the Boone and Crockett book.Ihave never heard of a whitetail of this calibre come out of region 8.Do you have some pictures?

It should rank in the top 5 taken in BC. Top 10 for sure anyways.

My BC book is old, but it shows the #1 typical at 184 5/8 (Dakota WT), and the largest region 8 at 177. 186 typical sounds impossibly huge for a non-Dakota whitetail.

Possible. There have been a couple of southern 200" gross whities in the last several yrs(non typ of course. If those tines match up and it's a clean rack, it is definitely possible:). Lots of back to back easy winters makes for more mature deer.

Hey could we put a fund together to get the guy that shot that Bear a pair of pants? Poor bugger was walking around in long underwear all day.
