Great fishing, and hunting at Sapeye. No shooting zone 400 metres of main rd. Go high early or come late. Plenty of dink deer if you are into that as well. Poor moose hunting and 1/2 ass goat hunting. Lots of grizz and some decent blackbears. Maybe one day the will give an leh for grizz out my back door.

I used to stay in a family friends cabin on Sapeye every summer as a kid. Seen lots of goats and black bear but don't remember seeing that many moose or deer. The fishing was good in Sapeye and Bluff lakes and always enjoyed my time up there.

Some years ago I went with a friend through that area to hunt goat at Twist Lake. Very beautiful country, and we saw goats, but somehow couldn't connect that time. Other subsequent attempts at it didn't come about, due to work and one thing or another, but much to the locals delight no doubt, as they had locked gates at several places to protect their privacy. Don't know if that's still the case though.

That one local down west branch is a rancher who has no business locking the gate. Infact with crown land beyond the gate he is supposed to keep it open. The other locals down west branch are great. Dave and Lori King operate a b&b on Bluff lake and cater to hunters. My wife and I also cater to hunters down Tatlayoko Lake way. Give the trip a try and you will have a nice trip regardless of success, the scenery is awesome.

There is a band of sheep down West Branch but no season on them. The numbers a low. Tasunia Mtn holds huntable sheep and is about 2 hrs from Tatla.
