So now that i know how to post pics i thaught i would put up my first grizz i took this year.

After 4 days of hunting with the bow (i know STUPID!!! but it has been a dream of mine for some time) and turning down a couple of smaller grizz we found ourselves glassing slides for the afternoon. Slide after slide we walked and glassed. We decided to look at one more but on walk there we ran into a good bear at 75yds. I wanted to get within 60yds for a good shot but as i made my final stalk the wind did a quick turn and he was now down wind of us and it was only a matter of time till he caught our smell... To make a long story short a friend handed me my rifle (I know. I know. I made the call). I waited for a good shoulder shot and let him have it. I gave him everything that 308.Cal had and some more. I was throwing lead like i was storming the beach. I shoot a savage 99 leaver action and was throwing that acting like John Wayne.

Now it wasn't the biggest bear in the country but a real pretty coat no rubbing or bald patches. I can't wait for the rug to be done.

Everyone keeps telling me to retire that old girl. But i see no point in putting down a winning race horse. She still gets the job done.
