View Full Version : Garmin GPS ?

Time for a new gps, I know that the Garmin 60 CSx is popular here. I had a friend buy a Garmin 550 with the built in camera, and touchscreen....


does anyone own one of these models?
are there any "technical"differences between these 2 models? will they both accept the same maps, and google earth?

I have a GPSmap 60Cx which so far is doing me just fine. I was really wanting to get the Rhino 520 (I think it is 520 but might be 530) that had the FRS Radio built in and a way to show on your partners Rhino just where you were on his/her unit. I think when/if I ever upgrade it will be to the Rhino, they seem to me to be just about perfect for hunting with partners.

bimmer- I had the orginal model of rhino, the gps was fine, but the radio's sucked! compared to motorola radio's, the rhino was junk. I am not sure if on the newer models the radio is improved, but that might be something to check if you ever buy one fyi

i've got a Rhino 530. i love it. the GPS is excellent, and the radio puts my parent's Motorola FRS radios to shame.

good to know- I had the 510, the original model, and it was a joke. Glad it is better on the 530.

does your 530 take AA batteries, or only the battery pack?

Maxx, check the other thread on here about GPS's, there is a comment about a 60CSx on CGN for $200, that is a great deal.

I have had the RINO 130 for 4 years now. No problems with the radio or GPS, but the Mono-color maps are somewhat boring.
Will upgrade soon....must look at this 550 with a camera.....
Do you mean the Oregon 550? Touch screen...ooooh.

My brother, dad, and I are hoping to receive 3 rhino 530hcx for christmas :)

They even tell you the weather forcast, pretty cool gadget but pricey.
