Just spent 10 days hunting mule deer just east of Quesnel. Saw no legal deer, 4 bucks total, 2 spikes,a forkie and a 2x3. Was this to be expected? Not that many does either (less than 10 total).:(

Depending on which part of east you hunted. If you were more specific, not your spot but a general area.

What Area East?

Are you talking out towards Cottonwood?
Maybe give us a region.

I'm a little north west of Quesnel. I have noticed a lot less, like less than 1/2 the deer out in fields and in my backyard than there was two years ago. People say there are a few wolves in the area and a farmer down the road from me says he's seen a few and a couple cows had tails stripped. I go for a 2k walk out my back yard often, and I have only seen wolf tracks once. Coyote tracks fairly often, and I know we have a couple neighborhood bears.

I've seen at least 6 killed by cars in the last year just on my 15km road. There is still deer, but something put a dent in their #s.

Just 1/2 hr or so west of Cottonwood. Virtually no deer seen, two hunters , hunting daylight to dusk 10 days, hunting hard. Total waste of time.

Was it really a waste of time? Sounds better than going to work!

There were 5 of us for a week (Nov. 20th - 27th) in the area near Nyland Lake (East of Quesnel) and we had the same experiance, only saw four Deer. We did see a TON of wolf track though. One of the guys talked with Brad Bowden (local guide) and he was not seeing much either. Tough hunt out that way the last couple years, time to move to another spot.
