Spent quite a bit of time hunting in 3-17 and 3-31B as we had some moose draws but no luck. I skidded by a cow, but by the time we got out of the truck all we had was a shoulder and an ass shot, so we didn't shoot. Saw does earlier in the season but that was all. Finished off with a 4 day hunt at the end of the month and never saw an animal.

I did great. Tagged out on WT and mulies in 3 in 8 this year. One was a 4x3 muley in 8. My hunting partners did really well too.

Many days I saw 30+ deer. Of all the days hunting this year (probably 60 outings, including short after work hunts), I had only 3 hunts where I didn't see deer. Anecdotal evidence of solid populations, for sure, but if the deer weren't there, I wouldn't see them.

I'll let you know what's on the winter range in a couple of months, as I'm fortunate that my office window overlooks some popular winter range. Last year, I could see up to 70 WTs a day up there, through the shitty old Bushnells in my desk drawer, no less! Imagine what I could see through my Leicas!

This was my best season in a few years........

A bit of unsolicited advice. If you steel yourself to pass on smaller antered deer you best be prepared to go home skunked....when you look a gift horse in the mouth you will be dissapointed!!!!

I never cut a mule deer tag the two previous years.

I hunted up the nor, for about a total of seven hours of leg work, saw 22 mule deers. Didn't connect on that big one I saw headin out and over and gone, poof. Houdini buck, you need lots of luck with the Houdini --
I'd say the one thing I didn't see was a foot of snow, try ZERO.

WT Doe in late October in 8 (Draw) and a 4x4 Mulie in 3 Mid Nov. Neither special, but better luck than some people I know. Would have had a 4x4 WT to go with it, but 2 old geezers showed up, drove by me and popped him........

I saw nearly 20 bucks 4 point or more, harvested the largest of them! Also arrowed a whitey DOE the other day. Was no problem filling the tags thats for sure!
My wife also passed on both mulie and whitey bucks, while holding out for larger ones!

Took a 4x4 MD in region 8 and could have taken a couple smaller ones in region 3 but decided to pass as I have a smorgasbord of meat in the freezer. Also passed on a 4x4 WT in region 8.

It was a year much like the last few....lots of deer in lots of different places.

saw lots of deer everyday, usually 30+. passed up around 75 bucks before finally pullin the trigger on a 5x5 muley. also got a whitetail buck. this was all in region 3.

got out about 5 days worth in region 8, saw lots of deer there, about 10 bucks, but no shots were fired.

never saw one big hog of a buck that got me really excited, but I still had a great season!

I would have been happy with even a little buck, but the only one I saw was a 5X3 muley humping a doe on the side of the highway on IR land.
Saw less than 30 WT and muley combined, all of them does. Saw 37 moose, inlcuding a large mature, and a spike fork that I had to let walk as it was ten minutes too dark. Ten of those sightings were likely repeats. I sure had fun trying though!

Saw more deer in 8 this year than any year past. Found a nice trail that will be visited again early next season. There's one BIG buck that I hope survived the onslaught. We did get 2 deer in 8 and 2 in 3. A great year all in all.

didn't shoot a thing.....................

Same here. I saw less deer all seaon this year than I normally do in one day. It didn't help that I had no time off work this season due to a new job, but wasn't even able to connect on a Reg. 3 doe draw - had one in the crosshairs @ 250 yds for a second before she bolted, but that's it. Saw several every day in Reg. 8 on the way to and from though. They know where they are safe.

We take turns sleeping and I wouldn't have shot that rat - if that kid could keep his finger out of the trigger guard it would have been a nice buck in another year or two.

And it's a good thing I was sleeping otherwise he probably would have gotten so excited he would have missed it completely like every other time but once that I've called a buck in for him.

My trigger doesn't normally work - between the two of us we might be able to fashion up some sort of rig. Might have a problem with the left-handed thing.

This is my 2009 Region 8 Whitetail. Mid Nov hunt. Was tough - deer were nocturnal - lots of hunting pressure near the roads. Trail cams saw more hunters than deer! I let 2 spikes walk and bagged this guy on the 7th day. Good thing as I had to get back to the island before the blacktail rutt ended.

Obviously! Oh well, there's always next year, and meat-like stuff in the gorcery stores. (work and other commitments prevent any further hunting days this year)

Killed a LEH muley doe and a small Region 3 dinky dog deer for the freezer. Since yesterday was pretty much the end for me, I'll be eating my muley buck tag for dinner on Thurs.
