I have been out a few times this months looking for a whitey in an area where I took a small buck last year. Only been out a few times and had only seen does. I had placed my camera in the area and hadn't had much luck getting photos of bucks till I checked it today! I'm surprised with the size and number of the bucks in the area.

Here's a link to the photos, hopefully it works, if not I will find another way to post them.

Also, a friend of mine bagged a whitetail buck coming back from barriere about 2 weeks ago.

Boy, if you're into bow hunting, you have a very good spot for a treestand there.
You related to Ed?

Not that I know of, no Ed in my family.

I tried rattling a few times in the area with no luck. Definitely know where I'm hunting early next season.

sweet pics, not to give away your spot, but how far from town are you finding these whitetail at?

Great pictures. My wife and I drove north of Kamloops about a month ago and we have seen some huge whitetail deer up there. I'll have to go knock on a few doors and scout a bit for next year.

20 min drive from town. They definitely have there own little niche, the whole time that the cam has been up very few muleys have been by. The small two point in those shots along with the does.

I noticed that aswell, very selected spots for whitetail around kamloops. you still have 5 days left to get one!

Yeah, I will probably drag myself out of bed one of these mornings for one last hunt. Would rattling still be effective this time of the year?

The short answer is no. When the bucks are with the does, as they are now, rattling becomes useless, in fact you're liable to scare the deer off.

Didn't even clue into them sniffing it. Come to think of it, I think I pissed on it about three weeks ago when I put the cam up :-D
