Okay, I'll kick it off.
Some of you have seen this pic before on the waterfowling thread.
Slyfox and his father took me out before the end of the season for a bit of a widgeon shoot.
We all did a lot of shooting, but they did most of the hitting.

''one shot harvest at 150 yards''-pretty solid proof a hit in the right place with a 7 mm mag is quite capable of taking a grizzly

I had been hunting bear in region 4-02 in the lodgepole area for 3 weeks, camping up there by my self at times.
I spend most of my time videoing, I had videoed 4 other grizzly, one large sow with a cub, a 6 ft bore and a 6 1/2 sow, and a 6 ft brown fase blackbear, I had seen this same grizzly a week and a half before I harvested him, I couldnt get a stalk at him because of the wind, I was bowhunting at the time and had my son with a rifle for backup.
This bear had winded me and had ran off in the thicker timber, had walked back across the draw and sat with my son, It was about 2 hours latter this same bear came through ther alder at the bottom of the draw and walked up exactley were I was standing and started attacking some bushes and small trees, and even stood opn his hind legs looking around for someone or thing. I had all this action on video about 500 yards away, yes some grizzly have learnt to back track successfully, if had had stayed over in the same spot looking for him I would of gotten myself in trouble, he would of came up behind me.
I have harvested a few Grizzly in the past and have been on a dozen other grizzly harvests with friends and guiding.
The one thing I have learned in the past is you don't try hunting grizzly with a bow by your self with no backup, your just looking for trouble.
I had hunted this area hard and had put on a few kilometers on snow shoe to get the video footage I wanted, I starting to do my own hunting videos called Big Z outdoors, it's alot of work and time.
This Griz had a tag in his right ear being a grizzly that was trapped in the Flathead area in 2002, and his nickname was "GLEN".
The Flathead area has the largest percentage of interior mountain grizzly population in North America, We know that there is good genetics with these bears because Glen was only 6 years old!
The one problem for hunters that draw a grizzly tag for region 4-01 is that usually you can't get into the Flathead region by vehicle untill the middle of June because of the Avalanche areas and snow pack, and the season closes on June 5.
I spend alot of time in the bush, I was in the B.C. Forest service bear awareness video and a consultant for Pan Video Productions in 1993 who made the Video still used today, for people working in the bush and schools, this was because of numerous different grizzly attacks that I had encountered, and never been mauled! THANK GOD

Here is my meat bear from last week. He was just under six feet so not the monster I was looking for but it was a good hunt! I got him with my Sako 338/08 using a 185 grain Barnes TSX. I was hunting an open powerline and the wind was sketchy so I took a solid rest on a stump and ranged him at 287 yards. I couldn't stalk any closer so I took him with a solid heart lung hit. He was a tough one though because allthough the shot put him down I put another into him to stop him from making the trees. My wife and I spent 10 tens camping/hunting bear this past week and a half so we had an awsome time. She didn't get a chance at one but we saw plenty of bears!

This is my first bear.It measured 4' 9" nose to tail.I know it's not big but it's my first, and i had my son along for the hunt so it will always be a great memory.

Nothing Special, but a friend and I got a pair of 5 foot 4 inch bears in a span of an hour last Sunday. Great freezer bears. Had some maple flavored breakfast sausages made up at the Duncan Butchershop, and had some with me this weekend camping, they were awsome.

Hank Hunter , my son is 15 and it is about the 6 time he has tagged along on one of my hunts, and the first time i actually got to cut a tag with him along.I'm sure he was beginning to think that all i did was take my gun out for a walk in the bush.

The only hunting award I will ever win in my whole entire pointless life!!! Woo Hoo!! Thanks Bud! The moose looks smaller than it was, it's front end is in a dpression and I am built like Andre the Giant...
It was a fun hunt, I don't have a quad so I hoofed it in the blow downs for 4 days and was sore as hell. Saw a giz at 75 feet and got charged twice by a black bear sow... Lucky for her and her cub she stopped about 7 feet from the rifle muzzle and I had enough restraint to not shoot her...
Loads of fun and one of the most memorable hunt's I ever had!

Sorry for just posting the URL's - anyone know a way to take a bit picture and save it in a different format to reduce file size?
If your still looking for an easy and FREE photo manipulator try IRFANVIEW.
http://www.irfanview.com/
You can resize and save in almost any format, as well as most other basic editing. I use it to crop, resize and save mostly. It's a very small program for what it does. IMHO it's still the best photo freeware out there.

ahhh, the beauty of buckshot
Actually that deer was just shot once with a 20 gauge slug, the blood spot in the centre of deer is the slug hole the other blood patches are just transfered blood form the slug hole by handling the deer.

This guy will make pope & young (123 5/8 green) - coastal blacktail, reg. 2, (sumas mountain), Nov 2 - stared at me for three minutes until he finally responded to my grunt and turned his head so I could see some antlers! See if you can find him in the first pic!

Bottoms are just over 7", that width measured in and around his crown of points has a widest girth of 9 3/4", pretty heavy.
A little late, but here is a small 5x5 whitey I took about a month ago.

I wish mine was that small!
I guess I'll post my August moose as well. I tried to get pictures of me with the animal, but they didn't turn out too well. The thing fell in the middle of a meadow with thick buck brush that was chest high. I was by myself and was having trouble getting the tripod to sit up properly, I also got sick of snapping twigs to get a clear view.
