I'm looking for a new pack or packboard for this upcoming season. I want something comfortable that could carry some personal items, not a lot, and my game/meat. Not an overnight or weekend sized bag, would only carry items for a half day outing plus the meat or mount etc...

Does anyone have any pictures of their pack loaded with meat etc. that they could share so I can have a good idea of the packs functionallity.

How much do you want to spend?
What kind of terrain do you hunt in?

The freighter frame will do the trick for most. I don't have any digital pictures to post but I have packed out big moose quarters nearing 150 pounds on the pack. Under that much weight the pack did it's job but it wasn't real comfortable.

There are better packs but they cost as much as a new Remington!

Here is a photo from another site I visit frequently. This guy hunts with goats and uses them to pack out the meat. Works pretty well apparently. I believe he is from Oregon. I thought this was pretty cool.

Here's one I found. Not much to talk about. Just a simple military pack frame and a bucket of ambition:lol:

Using Goats to pack gear isn't the best thing to do. The domestic goats will spread the barnyard diseases to the wild animals especially to wild sheep. I remember reading a writeup on it but I can't remember where. But apparently goats have been responsible for many major die-offs in the past.
I don't know why horses and Llamas don't transfer disease too but apparently the domestic goats are bad for it.

Last year I ordered a Just One Pack by Glen Eberlestock through Cabelas. Not cheap but worth every penny! When I add up what I spent on packframes and cheap daypacks over the years it totals considerably more than if I had just purchased a good one in the beginning.I had my eye Kifaru products for some time but just can't get the one for whom I forsake all others to loosen the purse strings that much! Some day....

Yes, you are asked not to use goats for pack animals in BC, as well as forbidden to use them in othe rareas. llamas too.
