I have a copy of the Deer and Elk of BC from 1994, however no other critters in there...

Anyone know what the minimum score for a goat to get into the BC book??? Or is there even such a category???

I have the B/C score sheet printed off the net, but have not done the full tape measurements on my goat....

You can bring it by Kent Outdoors on Dec 12 and I can put a tape on it, if it goes book it can be officially scored there as well. I think BC book for Goat is 54" I will check later and reply again.

My FU there, sorry.
I took the first list I found in my new 5th edition on page 15 as being the facts. :redface:It is from the early days of the club, and was changed in '69.
Should have read more I guess

Boone and crockett is 47 for the awards and 50 for the all time record.

I just got a boone and crockett mule deer edition, (congrats Mark) and they show all the trophy's down to the Awards as well 180 typical mulies and 215 non-typicals. so I say boone for goat is 47.

If you shoot a goat over 50" in the bull river you're doing something. Seen billies that push 11" come out of there and not come close to that. They don't have the weight.

Following the directions on the B/C sheet I get 39 6/8".

Not sure if I did it right or not, and I know I did not have an "official B/C Measuring tape" but I did use my unofficial Canadain Tire Keychain measuring tape:mrgreen::mrgreen:

First time I have ever tried to score a goat, so not sure if I did her 100% correct or not..

You're in the ballpark . . . a 3 1/2 year old nanny with 9" horn won't hold much weight and won't score much over 40". The average billy of that age should score in the mid 40's.
