Went out for looking for a four point today in 5-2d. I jumped three moose on the way in (scared the crap out of me in the dark). I Then got to my spot and I was walking in jumped a deer, but never got to ID it. The snow was so crunchy and loud it made sneaking in near impossible.

So around noon I got frustrated and decided to go try calling a coyote. :-D

So I sat down in a rock pile in an open pasture got all set up, and started to whale on my jackrabbit call. No longer than 5 minutes and this girl came out of the bush at about 200 yards and wouldn't come any further, so I took a crack at her. Dropped like a sack of hammers, it made my day:mrgreen:

It was a female. I don't know much about the size of these things but I weighed it and it was 33 lbs. ???

I also completed my first ever skinning of a song dog. And wow there isn't much underneath all of that hair.... I also didn't realize how hard the tail would be...but I got er' done and I think it should turn out nice! I'm going to take it to get tanned so I can hang my first coyote on my wall :)

Good job. The area where I was hunting this past week was full of coyote tracks. Can't be good for the old deer population:icon_frow

Nice poke Kyle. 200 yards is pretty good shooting. "Back Fourty??" Where'd the crunchy snow go?
