what is your favorite position? (get your mind out of the gutter!)
what does a bird mount cost?
anyone recommend a taxi in the central or north okanagan?
I got what I beleive is a falcon, it flew through a friends window and was found by his wife on the living room floor, I'm in the process of getting all the permits and inspections.....

Harley White does a really nice job on birds. As far as the mounting position, it would depend on how much plumage you want showing. I have a Northern Sawhet and a Great Grey mounted with about a quarter turn to show one side and most of the front. My immature osprey appears to be landing, showing more of the underside of the wings. Hope you get your permit.

I have an immature Sharp Shined Hawk that's on a branch about to take off, looks pretty good.

Mine was done some 18 years ago, he got nailed by crows then flew into a big glass window at the Airport, fell right at my feet. I would have had an barn owl from work too, but, times were tough, so I found him a new home!!

This guy met the front end of a vehicle on a Jan day. Songbirds were eating grit off the road and this guy was hunting them.

My suggestion for what it's worth - Find a good Taxi., examine his work and if possible get testimonials. Be prepared to pay his price. My brother had an eagle done once that cost big bucks - no guarantee. We all cried when he finally got it back, as it was a totally scewed up job. Couldn't back out. Had a lot of hassle from the authorities over the permits too!

I've got about 30 bird mounts, mostly waterfowl and grouse and quail. My wife is awesome with roadkill,so far she's picked up a great horned owl and a kestrel.I also have a pygmy owl in the freezer waiting for a permit,as well as another cock California quail. She phoned from the road yesterday, asking if I wanted a coyote! Most of my work is done by Frank at Fur & Feathers in Surrey. He does great bird mounts. My good friend mounted a great horned owl for me and it still cost me 400 and he would not even look at it without a permit, its mounted as if he was just starting to take off. found as road kill. I had a red tailed hawk in my freezer but due to finances had to find him a new home

Barry Kilback from B+K did my bear rugs. He's still doing work but i don't think he's hardcore into it like he used to be. He does do good work though. I also heard he's in a different house out on Whitelake Road more towards the observatory but i haven't talked to him in a while.

Hey guys,

I haven't posted on here, and just have been snooping around and admiring all the beautiful animals being taken, and also learnt alot of things. I have had a nice collection of birds of prey that i have had mounted over the last 15 years.

Sorry for the glare on the pictures but all of the birds are in glass cases.

By the way, there are 3 pictures of our horn chandelier that we have placed in the garage and somehow got into this slideshow.

Cheers, Andy
