I'm from the Island and i'm headed up to the Cariboo for the end of deer season. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how best to hunt the area--tactics/areas to hunt?

If anyone if up for going for a hunt with a couple of islanders drop me a line. We'll be packing what some would consider to be the best bacon in BC!

Both are large areas. I have had great success for mule deer down near the blackwater river in the late season. I believe the road is the tako fsr? and then there are many spurs off that. One that comes to mind is the high profit. It was good 4 years ago anyways. That is out of PG. In the past years region 5 has been alright. With high pressure the past few years the good bucks seem to be in the thicker timber and away from any roads, unless you get lucky and get one on the move. any direction is alright I like the alexis creek area but north of williams lake is great as well. sorry wont give you my spot down there though.
