Hey all, new to the forum and thought I would post last weekends Fraser Valley Blacktail. I figured I would go out for a short Sunday afternoon drive with the rifle. It's pouring rain out so I am not expecting to see to much, I go by a few of my fav places see nothing, continue on to a slash that I had been meaning to check out. I am just about done there and I see a doe out of the corner of my eye so I get the binoculars out to take a closer look, and sure enough just in the brush line there is a nice buck standing there, 1 shot and he drops in his footsteps. I then walk over to the area to make sure he's dead and realize I left my knife at home!!!
I end up dragging him by the antlers about 300 yards to the closest access, I then try and try to lift him in the back of my truck but just can't get him over my tailgate. So decide to leave him there for a few minutes and go see if I can find sone help, I drive down the road about ten km and find a couple quadders just leaving, they were kind enough to follow me up and help lift it in the back of my truck just in time to as it is almost dark now. Anyhow I end up driving home and start the gutting and skinning job a little closer to home once I got my knife!!
Btw the frown face was not supposed to be there, new to posting here noobie mistake
