Hope the links to the pictures works.

The story goes like this. I was hunting my late season spot in region 3 between 4600 and 5000 feet in 10-12 inches of snow. I started the trip on November 10 to spend a week before the rut to zero in on a good buck. While the week before the rut was great, saw lots of animals and found some good sign that looked big, although I did not see any bucks. On Nov 15 and 16th I had two good Bucks show up and would be shot if not for the 4 point season. These were large 3 points with small brows. I looked for a forth, but no luck.

On Sunday 15 November I mert a couple fellow hunters who where after Moose. I shared my knowledge of moose in the area and they were grateful and also shared other hunting area info. The next day we met again and I said I was going to change spots as the bucks where I was did not meet the 4 point requirement. After packing up and almost ready to pull up the same hunter came back to my camp area to chase a moose that can through my camp an hour earlier. They also told me of a great buck on another road were I was heading. That night I did not spot the buck, but saw his sign and movement pattern, along with the does he was courting.

The nexy Morning I fought the driving snow and wind only to find the buck and does were in the area, but not in the open. SO I tracked them, one half hour later I got my chance as the snow allowed me to stalk them close. After the shot I had one Km to drag him put. It took 4 1/2 hours, but I made.

I did a green score on him 169 1/2. The limiting factor for higher score was his spread. Inside was only 22 inches. Lots of mass and length.

Many thanks to Brad from Spuds Sports, who shared the info on this deer.

Good looking buck.
Looks like you hauled him the 1km out of the bush, loaded him and went home without dropping the gut bag?
That would be a chore.

Sweetness, never had a buck with such long tines. Course there is no need to exagerate with such a beautiful 4X3.

Sweet buck, really nice rack.
(BTW, you don't count brow tines, so it's a 4 X 3)

...or if you wish, a 5X4...lol
No matter, a helluva buck, and congrats again.

Thanks for the counting lessons. I guess the B and C counting and scoring must be wrong and the G1 is not counted........

Thanks for the counting lessons. I guess the B and C counting and scoring must be wrong and the G1 is not counted........Some,including myself count the points according to the hunting regulations of B.C.
According to B&C:To be counted a point, the projection must be at least one inch long for scoring, but in the B.C. hunting synopsis, the G1 is not counted as a point.
I don't believe anyone was trying to take anything away from this buck as he is a FINE buck.
To each there own
Great deer

Nice 4 x 5. I guess the brow points aren't there:confused: I know for the regs they are not counted. but for scorring purposes they are. As I said nice 4 X 5.

Definitly a 5x4! Very similar to the 5x4 I shot this year. If it's a 1 inch protrusion, it's a point! Congrats!
