I just returned from the SCI show in Reno, my first time attending. It was extremely interesting, absolutly everything about hunting. It took 2 days to completely walk the show, and that is with basically avoiding all the African booths ( there were probably 150 of them)

Some interesting points,

- It was great to see lots of people in the sport that I admire, I saw walking through the isles Doyle Moss, Kenny Jarrett, Jim shockey and crew, President Bush Senior, John Nosler junior etc. Also got a chance to speak with Bart Lancaster, nice guy, I like his videos,

- I enjoyed the most handling all the lightweight custom guns, most of the manufacturers were there, Chritensen, Bansner's, Rifles inc, jarrett etc. All make very nice rifles. Seeing all the expensive shotguns, double rifles was nice as well. Some of the were going for 50-100,000 US !!

- Most all of the Large BC outfitters were there ( that have Stone sheep). What I found most interesting was the "power" of the GOABC at the show. For instance, every person who registered got a free camo carrying bag, the only edvertisements on the bag were SCI, Mossy Oak ( for using the camo on the bag) and the GOABC!! Also, the only info, other than the main show info that came with the bag, was the GOABC magazine ( Mountain hunter). Another thing was that there were about the same amount of outfitters from BC as there were from Alaska,

Here are some pictures from the show,

Looks like that was an awesome trip. Quite a bit more involved than our sportsman show in Abbotsford. Are you a member of SCI? I was thinking of joining I hear their magazine and newsletters are good.

There was no price listed on the truck, but I am sure that it was lots!!

The show is in Reno every year. Someone told me that it is the largest hunting "booking's" show in the world. I went to look around, see the sights, and drool at some of the hunts. The Asian sheep hunting is what got me drooling the most, some of the rams taken are incredible!

Mark sullivan was also there I forgot to mention, what a freako that guy is, I spoke with his camera man, his newest video shows them shooting hippo's at 4ft!! And the camera man was giggling about this, he said that after a hunt like that, they take the next day off to "rest" they are so jacked up!

The total show floor was probably 300,000 square feet, and there was not room for another booth, they were booked.

How much was admission? Did you have to pre-book? I know you can get good deals on flights down there just want to figure out the cost of the rest of the trip.

It cost 55 dollars for a year membership, and 100 dollars per day at the show. If you booked in advance, it was cheaper.
