My buddy was up all around the area last weekend. He said it was a waste of time. You never know.

if your talking about takeing a boat up then yes .

If your talking about where all the inbred mouthbreathers are then i would say it is a waste of time.

Never say never, this guy was taken 5 years ago at the top of one of the many dead end roads. You'll need to get away from the dead beats and work some cut blocks. Week days are likely better, and if it's raining the hunting is better and the morons are less!!

They'll not find the hole by accident. That was some hump!

I used to go to the south east end of Salsberry lake. Hit the logging road going to the east. And go threw the most overgrown road there is, Seen a few deer. Dont like to leave my truck up there so people can trash it. You can always park you vehical at the top of Davis lake and then take the trail up to the clear cuts up top. You will be close to Mckay lake. Seen lots of tracks up in that area.

I like driving into a spot and walking out. That way anyone heading in gets seen by me!!! And I make sure they know I saw them!!

sylvester rd/ cascade fsr. isnt to bad mid week, i seen a few does (mulie) and young buck some 130 yards away. you can count on rain being the best hunting there. and at least go past 10km mark, only hunters and the "hard core 4x4ers" will usally e out that far during mid week. go early and you never know what could happen.

As "ruger#1" said, be forewarned that a lot of vehicles get broken into or trashed up the east side of Stave lake.
If you are considering hunting in the upper stave, take extra provisions because the lake can be extremely rough this time of year, and let your loved ones know that you will stay put if it is too rough.
