Big7's '09 Mulie

Well, not much of a story.....

I was returning from a morning hunt in the bush (didn't see much other than a few does) when I came across this guy following some doe tracks in the middle of a field. He wasn't at all concerned with me - that time of year! I watched him for 15-20 minutes then decided to take him.

I got set up in the field with my bipod extended and waited for him to come over a little hill. With one well placed 162gr BTSP from my 7RM, he dropped and it was all over. I punched my tag, drove my truck out to him, threw him in the back and went home! Put a tape on him the other day...173 5/8 gross

Thanks all....he's 26 3/8" wide. Yeah, normally I don't wait that long either....this year I had to tell myself many times to hold out for something bigger....I watched him so long trying to get a good look at his back tines. Once I did, I knew they would bugger up the "score" but I estimated him at a 170 frame as is so I shot! Glad I didn't pass him up, he's my best so far.
