Well I just got back from our second annual coastal hunt for blacktails. We went 4 for 5. 3-3pts and a 2 point.

Mine was from and old skidder road. It was a long (200 yard) offhand shot but I did connect.

The trip was a very wet one. All but one day was either raining or snowing. We did see some really large bucks but weren't fast enough.:-D

Here's my partners 2 point.

We'll go back again next year. As we learn the area we are seeing better and better deer.

Thanks Wayne. We saw a lot more this year. We've made some great discoveries. I think next year will be even better.

I've never heard of someone making a trip to the coast to hunt - normally it's the other way 'round!! Way to go!

We go in by boat. Lots of area/roads but no road access.

Nice blacktails, I was thinking of doing something similar next year, so many interesting areas to check out that are probaly almost never hunted due to no road access.

Did you pack in a wall tent/wood stove etc for a remote campsite? How did you get the deer out, trail bike or old fasioned pack board way?
