Went hunting this morning with my buddy (HBC member Tex Williams) who just got his CORE & PAL last month. We spotted a 3x3 with 6 does, in a field with 2 cow moose. We swung around to get closer but the moose busted us at 150 yards and spooked out, taking the deer with them. We noted where the buck and does entered the timber and began to head that way. Once we got to the bush we looked back the way we came and seen 2 does, a fawn and a forkhorn cuttign across the field, angling to where we just came from.

We backtracked to cut them off, and due to some trees we lost sight of them. They had to cross an old skidder trail though, so we might get a chance. I spot a deer on the trail ahead so we stop and kneel down, I give him my shooting stix and he gets ready. I look through my binos and its a doe, then she crossed the road and next comes a fawn, then another doe. Wait, its got antlers. "shoot it!" I say - he says "ok" BOOM - the deer jumps up and is across the road in one bound. We give it a few minutes then walk up slowly and find the spot where they crossed.

We found a drop of pink blood. Then 10 feet further we find blood, and lots of it. We followed it up for 40 yards when he spots it piled up ahead.

that ain't a 2 pointer  I guess I need better binos

He was still pumped regardless, he popped his cherry and has some good meat for the freezer. We were gonna take a doe if the opportunity presented itself anyways, although a little buck would of been preferred. :-D Turns out it'd be the last day this month we'd be able to get out together. Laser'd @ 180 yards, right through the middle of the heart. Great shot

no I sold that 7-08 last month, this is my 700 Titanium 260Rem shooting factory 120gr Fusion (2850 fps). Bullet entered and exit'd between ribs, right through the heart. Offside lung was sticking out of the exit hole. TTSX woulda been cooler, but I need the brass for this rifle, so the factory ammo got the nod this fall  seems to work well though

That brass will fit good after it's shot in your gun. Expands I hear and fits tight and snug as a bug. Good idea for reloading for superb accuracy.

Or did someone draw antlers on the lenses of your binos with a jiffy marker?
