Have been heading to an area for the last two weeks with the hopes of running into some whiteys. Lots of big dead fir and we need firewood so we hunt the morning and get a load of wood in the afternoon.

We got this little guy following a doe and figured he would top up the load nicely. Nothing big but some good eats. Now going for the big boy there!

Always like stirring the pot. Just as a side note though, hunting was pretty much over and wood gathering was commencing when the beers came out.

You know the ethics police will be all over you now.. You basically are on the same field as a crackhead stealing vehicles and mugging old ladys if you have a beer and get in a truck to drive, read darksiths thread LOL

Don't really care about the ethics police. Having a beer when getting wood is perfectly fine. Wonder what they will say when I tell them my wife was driving and she does not drink - DOHHHHH!!!!!!

All in a days work, always good when you can get some fire wood and a deer in the same trip. Just my 2 cents you should crop out your lp# in all pics. Right or wrong avoid posting to much on here, just my thought, not saying is wrong...congrats.

Just makes sense to get a load of wood when you're up in the bush anyway ,but I have a firewood and hunting question-given deer can often be found browsing the tips of newly fallen timber-do you think they have come to associate the sound of a chainsaw with food?

for year that was my fathers and my routine, hunt the morning, load up firewood then hunt on the way home.i remember many times unloading and skinning the deer before unloading and stacking the firewood.thanks for the memory.by the way dont worry about any the beer ya had or what others feel about it.cutting and loading wood is a good workout and unless you were there to pound the brews down (doubtful though) the taste would have been that much better after working your a$$'s off let alone rewarding yourself with one after ya dropped and loaded some meat.
well done on a great day and congrats
