Thank you , I shot this deer at 730 this morning at the 2000ft level on the mountain. I was doing some rattling where there were a lot of rubs. Started to leave and spotted this guys antler , He was hiding on the other side of a tree. Seen the rest of his body and shot him with the 6.5X55. He was about 60 yards away. Looked like his heart exploded. So instead of dragging him almost straight up he went for a Ride down hill. Found a nice beaver pond and dragged him about a 1/4 mile to the truck. He also had a Friend with him that took off when i put the rifle up to shoot, Maybe next year for the four pointer. Might try fishing in the pond. Last year i seen an otter close to that area. About the 1500 ft range.

Dewdney mountain has good deer also, The road is very rough and 4X4 only. Lots of cuts up top and a cabin on the east side.

I use the doe bleat and rattle bag in Nov, It works some times but not always. I find it is something to do when your sitting and waiting.

So that's what a blacktail looks like, huh?! They really do exist.
Nice job!
I think I might try a day hunt in the valley in the next few weeks and see if I can rattle a few sheds I found on my earlier unsuccessful whitey trip to region 8. What doe bleat do you use?

I use the primos long can, Seems to work the best for me. Make sure you hit the ground with the antlers to simulate their feet stomping.
