my day started badly with a broken axle on my utility trailer which meant hard work getting all my equipment to my trap area, having to make multiple quad trips.
there had been an inch of snow and lots of wolf tracks.first i checked the bait and it was untouched. 2 moose heads and skins and bones and a 1500 pound cow
Iwas thinking that maybe they were wary of my snares,
so i walked to the closest snare and bingo a coyote.
I said to my self if the yotes cant see my snares then the wolves wont either.
about then i saw something big and black across the ravine and it was the first wolf which was still alive so i shot that one and carried on checking and then found the big one which im guessing at 110 pound the smaller one around 80-90 pound ,the bigest one was a male and had a black and silver pelt and is gona be made into a rug mount.they were both in very good condition with no mange ,i also caught another coyote, not bad for a newbie , 4 on the first check!!
7 lynx sets are going in tommorow so i hope to get my first lynx too,
i have some photos but i dont know how to load them would somebody be kind enough to let me email them so they could post em for me??
cheers roebuck

found out today theres a $250 bounty on wolf sculls this year, to qualify you need to be a bc trappers member!!
good incentive to go predator hunting this winter!!

i've heard that each wolf eats 3 ungulates to themselves in a winter. you just saved 6 moose, deer, caribou or elk. Please continue the good work!!

checked my snares today and the wolves had been back!
but unfortunately the snow storm had flattened most of my snares which sucks big time!!
this pack stays around the area all the time!! and never seem too far away!! theres new tracks every day!!
