After a reasonably good start to the season, with a moose in the freezer and a couple of successful hunts with the younger fellas,it was time to set my sights on a mule deer for myself.
I spent 4 days hunting alone in region 8 early last week, but with the full moon and no snow,it was hard to target deer during the day.I should first say that I was hardly roughing it,I stay in a cabin in Tulameen with shower,laundry,t.v.,ect.,so it's a pretty comfortable trip.
I returned with my hunting partner on Saturday and we hunted till early this afternoon .I was obviously looking for a big buck and my partner who has had very limited time to hunt this year , was content to put any 4 point on the ground. As the hunt unfolded it was myself that had the only opportunity to put a 4 point in the freezer and I closed the deal.
We seen another reasonable 4 point today, but there was not much of an opportunity for a play.
We generally split our game, but with a moose in the freezer,I'm just as happy to help fill my pal's freezer.
This is a link to my earlier moose thread for any who have not seen and may be interested.

We were also visited by another member of this site,MichelD,and we shared a beer and a few stories at the cabin. We had never met,but have shared information thru p.m.,and he was still hunting when we left and with some luck, may have his own story.
I hope to target region 3 for a wallhanger yet, especially after seeing Marks buck.
