In looking for a good knife I came across the Outdoor Edge Swingblade. It seems like an interesting and effective combination. Has anyone on here used one and, if so, what is your opinion/review of it, please?

I played with one in Africa. A friend gave a few as gifts to the trackers/skinners. I just seemed OK to me. The gut hook side didn't work all that well IMHO. Maybe just needed a little more practice with it.

Here's a pic of the boys using it on a zebra....

I've got one and love it. Best design gut hook I've ever tried IMO.

Ive been using one for a couple years. I find it to work real well, and the steel quality seems real good, I did a deer and an elk before having to sharpen it.

they usually run around $90 these days, used to be about $70 a couple years back

I bought one from Grouseriver outfitters for $69 earlier this year. Just checked online and they raised the price to $79. More than worth the price for the Zipper capability alone.. Worked excellent on two Bulls and a mulie this year and still havn't had to sharpen. Would certainly buy another. The Piranta and Swingblade are my two favoite knifes now.

Fantastic little knife. I have the SwingBlade Pak, which includes the Kodi-Saw. The knife has gone through a doe & a buck this season without any problems and was as smooth as it could be to use. If you want a folding knive with this gut hook, now they have the Flip-n-Zip (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0072265519370a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=outdoor+edge&Ntk=Products&sort=all&Go.y=0&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&_D%3Asort=+&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form1&Go.x=0&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1) (Model 20C).
