With all the talk lately about the Gang Ranch area makes me wonder how many of us HBC'ers plan on heading there for the re-opening on the 21st?

I would think a lot of folks will be set up on the 18th, 19th, 20th before the opener.

I hope its "not a gong show for sure." Looks by weather forcast it will be cool but not to cold, some snow but not a lot. Because if those roads get slippery via snow, ice or mud the men are separated from the boys. I'm looking forward to being back there again myself when 4pts reopen on the 21st. Ah it's my birthday.

In all seriousness, if you've never been be sure to have chains or you might not be coming home if it gets soupy.
I know a few guys who had fortunately had a sat phone and called out for chains to be brought in one year when the snow pack didnt stay packed. They wouldnt have been coming home.

And yeah, it WILL be a gong show if you dont know where to go.

Words of the wise, it can be icy or soupy. Lots of road hunters and the roads will get chewed bad. I was there the end of Oct and the goofs were not using chains and still trying to go where they couldn't, the side roads are chewed up bad in some area's! Gong show is putting it lightly where the crowds gather!!

I'm headed there with several other buddies. Crossing my fingers on other hunters being in the same area as us.
