2009 Mulie Reg 3

The day started out as a day i was going to sleep in and not even go hunting until it hit 10:00 and the itch started. With no one around i decided to see if my mom wanted to go for a quick drive up one of my favorite roads, To my surprise after 20 years she says yes. I lend her some of my old camo and we head up the mountain, It hits around 11:30 And after lots of glassing and seeing nothing not even a doe I decided to try a small road and walk down , Low and behold about 75 yards down in a patch of red willows this guy stuck his head up to see what was coming down the road, I really was not wanting to shoot anything until mid to late nov but it was closing any buck and this guy had a 4 point kind of body on him. i opted for the shot as mom looked through the binos and tried to keep an eye on him "BOOM" one shot 75yds right to the head as he wasnt presenting me with a body or neck shot. Gutted him and surprisingley mom was right in there with me asking "what is this?" What is that" And "ewww i cant believe you arm goes that far in there" Great day great Experience .. Guess next year can be the monster Deer. She definately caught the urge.. to come out more to see more outdoors..

Maybe I am reading your post wrong but doesn't the any buck season close Oct 31st in region 3?

Read it wrong NeckShot "but it was closing any buck and this guy had a 4 point kind of body on him" it was on oct 22 i took him ..I wanted to hold out till Nov for a bigger buck but he was too big and looked like he would be nice on a plate next to a potato salad and some beer. was shootin the 300 weatherby found the nosler tip in the back of his neck it didnt pass all the way through ..
