My day started with my dad waking me up nice and early to head out for a day of walking our one of our common spots where we have had good luck in previous years.
30 min drive later we were at our destination and heading up the mountain. After a 1km or so walk we got to our sitting spot where we sit and listen watching for passing deer letting out the odd grunt to get the deer standing. 20 mins in to our sit we see a doe appear on a little ridge watching behind it we new something was behind it and to our suprise it was a cow and calf running and not stopping to see what was behind it. (we never found out what spooked the cow calf and deer)
45 mins later we decided to walk down the hill with no bucks in site and decided to take a slight detore and walked up a old skid trail. To our suprise there were does everywhere we new there had to be bucks in the area and continued up the road. We headed up and around the does on a big ridge to get a view above them and maby see something special my dad went to the right of me down a slight slope but still in site to see in a gullie. I turned to my left and what do u no i seen a doe and antlers. This was my first time hunting in 4 point season so I made certain he had 4 points before I made my decision. The buck was looking right at me so i couldnt count exacly how many points but he decided to make a move up and where i seen 4 points and a drop tine :-D BANG! I took a shot but he kept moving right after i here my dad take a crack Bang! i decided to walk up the ridge slightly and see over if the buck had dropped and to my suprise he was standing there looking at me i put the cross hairs on his neck at about 20 yards im certain i will hit him. BANG! he drops to the forest floor. My dad walked up to me to check my deer out and tag it then we went to look for a blood trail or any sign that he hit his. 30 mins into our search we come up with no sign of the deer and make our way back to my deer. 3 hours later we had the deer in the back or our truck and made our way home.
All in all this was a awesome season at cant complain. Start my season with a cow elk in january monster bull moose in october and this deer today:mrgreen::mrgreen:
