I've never posted on here but read it all the time. Figured I may as well contribute so here is my buck from this year:
Hiked into a spot I like to hunt with a buddy. Lots of activity on the way in so we are both pretty happy. Once we were in about 5km we decide to split up, he goes down I go up. We planned to each to a big loop and meet up in the middle.

Once I get to the top of the hill where I am supposed to start looping around I decide to go check out a spot where I've seen deer before. So a slowly and quietly walk in and sure enough spot a buck bedded across a bit of a gully and 180 yrds. He was unconcerned about me so I get down and get a rest. He is bedded pretty much broadside so I hold right behind his shoulded and squeeze one off. Before the recoil even hits me I see him flip on his back and start kicking. So I stick another round in the chamber and get the scope on him again just in time to see him run over the hill.

I headed over to where he was bedded and look for blood....nothing. I head over the hill and glass the other side. By this point I'm so excited I'm making a bunch of noise and spook a few does and a small buck from the thicker stuff at the bottom of the hill. He is not with them so I figure he is either bedded or dead in the thick regen. I glassed it from the top and saw nothing so I hiked around to look from the otherside. Sure enough on my way around I see him standing at 60 yards right in the thick of it. A raised my gun and one quick shot put him down for good.

Turns he was slightly quartered toward me for my first shot so I only got one lung.
I was surprised how big his body was....needless to say I'm pretty pleased. The pack out was 6km and my pack weighed 98lbs. Luckily by the time I was done gutting him my buddy was there to give me a hand.

What calibre did you use? Rifle, scope! We need details!
Try puttin' an blaze orange touque that big rack next time you hike out with nice antlers like that. Not every hunter in the bush has patience.

Well, I thought everybody was to start with some dumb question or two and a joke.
How is it then that you can get away with a good story and great pictures?
Probably the joke is on those of us who have been trying hard and have yet to connect with a real nice buck like that. Great luck anyway (shake a hand-shake a hand).

Here you go guys:

I went to the theatre the other day and in the front row was an old man and with him was his dog. It was a sad funny kind of film, you know the type. In the sad part, the dog cried his eyes out, and in the funny part, the dog laughed its head off. This happened all the way through the film. After the film had ended, I decided to go and speak to the man.

"That's the most amazing thing I've seen," I said. "That dog really seemed to enjoy the film."

The man turned to me and said, "Yeah, it is. He hated the book."

Buck was in Region 3 and killed with a Tika T3 lite in 300 wsm. Awesome rifle!

I've been doing good, I'm still working with Parattack in FSJ. I like it a lot there, its a great program. Hopefully will get a chance to chase whiteys down in your neck of the woods in the next couple weeks....
