Fox are listed as small game (page 5 of the regs).

Am I allowed to shoot them in Region 6?

I was once informed that we "cannot" hunt them, they can only be trapped.
But now that I looked into your question, I'm not so sure. I can't find anything stating we CAN'T hunt them, anywhere???

Someone knowing better please help out!!!

I've only ever seen 2, but would love a rug on the wall.

On page 6 of the regs:


OPEN SEASONS

There is NO OPEN SEASON FOR ANY
WILDLIFE – except as indicated in this
Synopsis. It is unlawful to hunt at any time
during the year except within the open
season, or by authority of a permit issued
under the Wildlife Act.

Since there are no open seasons listed for fox in region 6 (or any other region for that matter), it IS ILLEGAL to hunt fox in BC - trapping only. I think you knew this, and just couldn't remember why? It is monday morning, so I'll leave it at that:wink:

I can see why the question came up when you read the OP's referance to small game - perhaps this is old wording from where there were fox seasons? I can't be sure as I have never really payed attention to fox seasons in the regs.
