Hey guys. I have always wanted a lever gun and the marlin 1895 sbl is at the top of my list with the 45-70 chambering. Anybody own one and how do you like it? I currently hunt with my .223(yote gun) and my 7mm rem mag which has killed everything I've pulled the trigger on. Is the 45-70 gunna be a good choice to fill my light medium and heavy gun needs. Thanks

I think Dutchie has one, you should PM him about it.

45-70 will kill anything u want it to kill within about 100 yards lol. around 150-200 they drop pretty drastically. i myself hunt yotes with a .223, but use my 7mm rem mag for moose deer, bears etc. i have found my 7mm does way less damage than my 30-30 did, as the bullet is going through faster. a 45-70 leaves gnarly big holes...something i would consider.
