what do you guys think.....might the mullies start rutting around vernon soon (this weekend)? up in the snow around 1400m?
I was thinking of putting out some scent.....but this weekend I'm thinking might still be to early, maybe just try some rattling...

I would say they are gathering up their girlfriends as we speak. This should be a good week with the snow sparking things up a bit. Wished I still had a tag....oh well I can't complain too loudly. Whitey's are next.......

Get out there! They were rutting the does in my spot and another buddy watched them sparring and dogging a group of does... See this report:

I am working down the kettle and haven't even seen a Mulie doe in the last couple weeks. 16+ inches snow there snow at 1500m!!!! Need chains to get up any steep roads. Saw a few tracks today. Heard and seen lots of wolf tracks last week.

I've heard from a friend once before that big bucks drag their feet. whats the story? He was told by his old man that you can tell a bg buck is around if you can see them dragging in the snow. anybody know why?

Full moon closest to end of October or just go by bio's stats which is
---October 23rd to November 4th mature does done like dinner then
---November 11 to 14th yearling does come into first estrus
---November 16 to 19th -- left overs
---then every 28 days after for four or more months if missed
This is from the Kamloops Mule deer study done over 25 years in the same area in Kamloops and north - some in big pens closed in and lots done out in the field.
P.S. some people still won't believe the study to this very day, I know the guy personally.lol

The bucks up here where I usually hunt north of Kammy seem really big necked and doe crazy from Nov 11th on and the nov 16th to 19th the best for trophy sized monster necked bucks they are thinking of only one ting.
Jel -- Rut crazed red eyes rolling back and ears back a bit chin up and strong and sleek
