Discovered a carcass of some sorts in the bush today, skinned with appendages removed and left to rot. It was about 4 feet in length and the head was just a stump. The work of a poacher? If so I'll be forwarding GPS coordinates... :|

Here are the photos - sorry I screwed up the setting on the camera so it picked out mostly the pink and left everything else black/white, the carcass was red and still had plenty of blood in the chest cavity.

What is this thing?

A Bit Graphic...

Where abouts did you find it?? I'd be thinking its a blacktail if it was here on the wetcoast.

looks like cat carcass, or one of those creepy things from resident evil.

Wolf . Thin forearms and lanky.

Nothing to scale it against, but I would say that it is a coyote or wolf. Problably shot, skinned and dumped.

A member of the dog family?. Looks like it was skinned out for a possible rug?. no paws or head. the body looks too short for a cat.:?:

As long as it's a fur bearing animal it's legit...case closed...

First clue is the direction of the rear knee joint.

ok ok its a headless rear bending forward facing knee jointed 'yote known only to run about naked in cache creek, this one apparently died of natural causes but should be avoided due to its ability to sting you even after it is dead.

Yote, leg bone too skinny at bottom for cat.

Looks canine to me but are there that many wolves near Cache Creek?

Makes you wonder what to do with your coyote / wolf/ gbear carcass now that we have digicameras and posting sites. I'm sure no-one ever expected this to be seen by hundreds of people, particularily people that shouldn't be seeing this kind of thing... capiche?

I'm thinking it's a young bear, it's got heavily muscled lower legs. Here's a link to a picture of a skinned wolf - notice the direction the knees bend. http://www.soappuppy.com/wolf/skinning.html

I'd have to agree with the wolf voters. Kitties tend to have shorter necks. While big cats can be dangerous a little pussy never hurt anyone.

Must be a wolf. They are known to taste and smell awful. Tasty critters are scavenged quickly.

I saw a carcass like that in Mazatlan....on the butcher's counter:shock:.

I think I still have a picture of it kicking around.

If it was a young bear, it would be "poached".

If it was a wolf, it would be "pooched":p.
