The single finest waterproofing treatment I have yet found is Obenauf's LP Wax and, if you "Google" it, you can find their site. I have four main pairs of mountain boots at present, plus my "Mickey Mouse" boots and my Schnee's pacs and a pair of as-new Galibiers enroute to me. I have used a LOT of treatments and Obenauf's simply beats anything by a huge margin.
I think that Viberg's in Victoria sells it under their own label and they do handle Hanwags.

meindl boot wax works well too

Ive used lots of meindl wax on my meindle boots, and they are about as waterproof as cotton socks!
I would never purchase anything with the word meindl on it ever again!

FWIW,Kenetrek advises to use Nik-wax Aqueous Wax.Doesn't screw up the waterproof membrane.
