If you could hunt one species of deer anywhere in B.C in November what would it be?And where would you hunt.I have not shot a huge whitetail so I would choose to hunt the Peace country and look for hog.:-P

WT / Mulie in the peace. I'd take either species if a big one presented itself.

As a whitetail deer addict I would of course say whitetails and I hunt them anywhere they exist. "Have whitetail deer, will travel."

to steal a quote from another hunter here.. makes me laugh

"I don't know what I wouldn't hunt before I would hunt coastal blacktail" ...

and then you have island blacktail .. I think mainland bucks would hump island bucks given the chance.. mistaking them for does ;-)

High country mulie deer, horseback or otherwise SSS is pretty evenly tied for me with late season whitetail .. its impossible to pick one :p luckily I can do either within 15minutes of this computer:-P

Great thing about BC is that you don't have to choose.....you can hunt them all.

I've got plenty of good whitetails. So for me blacktail followed by mule deer.

lot of guys lookin' for mulies in open country. isn't that ideal?? look for a small deer in dense cover and you have hunting.not a large deer in open cover.

Comparing the size of a blacktail to the size of a mulie is about the same as comparing a mulie to an elk. They don't compare but it doesn't make hunting mulies less of a hunt or just as hard if not harder at times to bag a huge wall hanger. Same goes for Blacktails. They may not be as big but they are every bit as much of a challenge to hunt. In my oppinion they are far more of a challenge given the dense cover and terrain they live in. Especially the big mature ones. Anyone that can consistently bag mature Blacktails has my respect, Probably more so than someone nailing big mulies.

Geeze....I "almost" remember typing that:roll:.

I guess it comes from spending too much time in the drybelt.

BLACKTAILS by bow all the way to the bank. hard to pattern makes them alot harder to get. more of an accomplishment when you harvest one. location x.
