There has been many trips already this year with deer and bear taken, but our annual Granby trip is something we look forward to. As many of you already know the Granby is a huge valley. Lots of room for everybody. A nice change coming from the lower mainland. We got all types of weather; snow, rain, fog, high winds, and a little peek of sun. In total we saw 23 mule deer does, 10 whitetail does, 15 grouse, and only 2 trucks hunting. And more importantly, 1 muley buck. This guy was harvested at 2:30 in the afternoon chasing his 7 girlfriends. The shot was only 97 yards but the tough part was separating him from the ladies. Once he stepped clear the shot was fairly easy, broadside looking at me wondering why I was yelling at him. Whatever works. He is a 4x3 with nice browtines. He weighed 142 lbs at the butchers but felt like 300 lbs dragging him the 700 yds to the nearest road. With grizzly sign close to camp we had to make sure he was hung high so we had no problems, which we did not. Good hunting.

Nicely done. He's huge. We spent some time last weekend up where Burrell Creek Rd. comes into Granby Road. We only saw muley does as we had whitey doe LEH's.

Great looking buck and your smile sums it all up. What calibre, rifle, bullet etc did you use. Did he drop at the shot? Come on man, we like the details....

bcbooner. Oct 13th 2:30 in the afternoon. He wasn't stinky at all. Good luck.

CT.45 Browning ABolt, 30 odd 6. Factory ammo. Winchester 180 grain silvertips. The gun just likes that ammo. He went about 10 feet, that was it. Good luck.
