Since I can't hit a 2'x2' target at 50m with only the front bead I decided to scope my 12G slug gun.
I've tested a few scopes and red dots on it and they all proved great.
My favorite is the Trophy 1x32 T-dot sight. But it is heavy, about 400grams (much like all other scopes I tried).
Last time I fired 9 slugs before the bases got loose.
To my surprise, one of the base screws was broken, one was bent and the square notch the scope mounts into got rounded.
Definitely the aluminum base can't take the punishment.

Sooo, I'm looking for the lightest fixed magnification scope that can handle slug recoil. Weaver mount iron sights would do too.

Availability is a key feature (I looked online at Cabelas and Grouse River but they only show zoom scopes).

thanks for sharing

I have a 2X Bushnell shotgun scope, I may let go.
